There are two HDMI cables in this classroom. To use one of these, make sure HDMI1 or HDMI2 are selected as source, using the projector remote. To use the PC or VGA connection, described below, select the Computer source on the remote.

  1. HDMI1 is the cable to the front of the classroom.
  2. HDMI2 is the thinner cable on top of the desk with the desktop PC.

There is also a desktop PC in this classroom, under the tall desk in the middle of the room. (You'll need to get the combination lock code from the Academic Assistant.) It is hooked up to the projector via VGA. There is also a VGA cable for instructors to connect their own computer. In the cabinet you will see this device that lets you set the input on both the projector and the monitor on top of the desk.

This is a matrix switch to handle display between the monitor and projector. On the left are labels for PC 1 and PC 2. These are the two computer inputs:

  1. The desktop PC, under the switch, and
  2. The VGA + audio cables on top of the desk.

Then there are buttons 1 and 2 for the display options:

  1. The monitor on the desk, and
  2. The projector on the ceiling.

So...

  • To have the desktop PC mirrored to both, the lights should both be lit at the top, aligned with PC 1.
  • To use your own laptop with the VGA connection and have it displayed on both, press the buttons so the lights are both lit on the bottom row, for PC 2.
  • The lights depicted in the photo above indicate that the desktop PC is being displayed on the monitor while a laptop is being displayed on the projector screen.
