Accessing OWU BishopNet and BishopApps on your mobile device.

Connecting to BishopNet with iPhone or iPod Touch
  1. To configure your device’s wireless network setting, first make sure you are within range of the campus wireless network inside an OWU building. Then, from the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi. Under “Choose a Network…”, tap BishopNet. Then type in your OWU username and password when prompted.
  3. Tap Join. A certificate screen will appear. Tap Accept. You should be successfully connected to BishopNet. You will still need to register your device.
  4. Surf over to http://wifi.owu.edu/ to finish your registration. You will be asked for your OWU username and password one more time. Once you complete and Submit this, you should be online with BishopNet within 5 minutes. After that it will connect automatically whenever you are within range of one of our access points.

Connecting to BishopNet with Blackberry

Please note that OWU Information Services does not support Blackberry devices beyond minimal connectivity due to syncing limitations with Google Apps for Education. Contact your service provider if you need further assistance.

  1. At the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Scroll to Set Up Wi-Fi Network and press the trackball.
  3. Scroll to Next and press the trackball.
  4. Select Scan for Networks. The handheld scans and displays available networks.
  5. Select BishopNet. Then type in your OWU username and password when prompted.
  6. Tap Join. A certificate screen will appear. Tap Accept. You should be successfully connected to BishopNet. You will still need to register your device.
  7. Surf over to http://wifi.owu.edu/ to finish your registration. You will be asked for your OWU username and password one more time. Once you complete and Submit this, you should be online with BishopNet within 5 minutes. After that it will connect automatically whenever you are within range of one of our access points.

For BlackBerry Storm 2

  1. On the Home Screen, click Manage Connections Icon
  2. Click set-up Wi-Fi Network
  3. Click “Scan for Networks” (When in range of BishopNet) or Click “Manually Add Network” and type in BishopNet. Then click “Add”
  4. Type in your OWU Username and Password. Then click “Join”
  5. Surf over to http://wifi.owu.edu/ to finish your registration. You will be asked for your OWU username and password one more time. Once you complete and Submit this, you should be online with BishopNet within 5 minutes. After that it will connect automatically whenever you are within range of one of our access points.
  6. When you are prompted to save a profile for theWi-Fi network, click Next so that your device connects to theWi-Fi network automatically next time

Connecting to BishopNet with Android Devices
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select Wireless & Networks.
  3. Tap BishopNet.
  4. Enter the following settings: For EAP Method select PEAP; For Phase 2 authentication select MSCHAPv2; Leave CA certificate and User certificate ‘unspecified’; For Identity enter your OWU username; Leave Anonymous identity blank; For Password enter your OWU email password
  5. Tap Connect.  A certificate screen will appear. Tap Accept. You should be connected to BishopNet, but you will still need to register your device.
  6. Open a browser and go to http://wifi.owu.edu/ to finish your registration. You will be asked for your OWU username and password one more time. Once you complete and Submit this, you should be online with BishopNet within 5 minutes. After that it will connect automatically whenever you are within range of one of our access points.

Connecting to BishopNet with Windows Phone

To connect to a Wi-Fi network

  1. On Start, flick left to the App list, and then tap Settings Settings icon, then Wi-Fi.
  2. Make sure that Wi-Fi networking is set to On Toggle control icon.This ensures that your phone is actively searching for available Wi-fi networks. If a network is found, your phone will list it and note whether it’s an open or secure network.
  3. Tap the network you want to connect to.
  4. To connect enter your OWU username and password.
  5. Then go to wifi.owu.edu to connect the device with our network.
  • To disconnect from the network, tap and hold it, and then tap Delete.

Connecting to Wifi Using HP Touchpad

Connecting to Wifi using HP Touchpad
1. Click on the top right hand corner ( you will see your battery icon, and an arrow pointing down)
2.Click on the Wifi icon. Turn wifi on if it is not already.
3. Find the Bishopnet network and click on it.
4. Enter your OWU username and password to enter the network.
