Blackberry

Please note that OWU Information Services does not support Blackberry devices beyond minimal connectivity due to syncing limitations with Google Apps for Education. Contact your service provider if you need further assistance.

  1. At the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Scroll to Set Up Wi-Fi Network and press the trackball.
  3. Scroll to Next and press the trackball.
  4. Select Scan for Networks. The handheld scans and displays available networks.
  5. Select BishopNet. Then type in your OWU username and password when prompted.
  6. Tap Join. A certificate screen will appear. Tap Accept. You should be successfully connected to BishopNet. You will still need to register your device.
  7. Surf over to http://wifi.owu.edu/ to finish your registration. You will be asked for your OWU username and password one more time. Once you complete and Submit this, you should be online with BishopNet within 5 minutes. After that it will connect automatically whenever you are within range of one of our access points.

For BlackBerry Storm 2

  1. On the Home Screen, click Manage Connections Icon
  2. Click set-up Wi-Fi Network
  3. Click “Scan for Networks” (When in range of BishopNet) or Click “Manually Add Network” and type in BishopNet. Then click “Add”
  4. Type in your OWU Username and Password. Then click “Join”
  5. Surf over to http://wifi.owu.edu/ to finish your registration. You will be asked for your OWU username and password one more time. Once you complete and Submit this, you should be online with BishopNet within 5 minutes. After that it will connect automatically whenever you are within range of one of our access points.
  6. When you are prompted to save a profile for theWi-Fi network, click Next so that your device connects to theWi-Fi network automatically next time
  • Note that if you have not changed your password since May 2008, you will need to do that first before being able to connect
