Kindle Fire or Nook Tablets

Connecting to BishopNet on Amazon Kindle or Barnes & Noble Nooks

Note that these devices, with a web browser app, are compatible with our campus security, while other Kindle and Nook devices are not.

Kindle Fire

  1. Select Settings in the top Notification bar then Wifi.
  2. Make sure Wifi is turned on and select BishopNet as the network.
  3. Under EAP method, select PEAP.
  4. Under the Phase 2 authentication, select MSCHAPv2.
  5. Under Identity, type in your OWU username (do not include @owu.edu).
  6. Under Password, type in your OWU password (the same as for BishopMail).
  7. Leave Anonymous Identity blank.
  8. You may be asked to accept a certificate. If so, tap accept.
  9. Open the web browser and go to wifi.owu.edu to register.

Nook Tablets

  1. Select Settings, then Wireless, then Wifi.
  2. Make sure Wifi is turned on and select BishopNet as the network.
  3. Under Login, type in your OWU username (do not include @owu.edu).
  4. Under Password, type in your OWU password (the same as for BishopMail).
  5. Tap Connect.
  6. Open the web browser and go to wifi.owu.edu to register.
