Connecting to the Campus Wireless Network with an iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad

–Note that this connection requires version 2.0 or higher of the iOS software. You can check this on your iDevice by going into Settings, General, About. It will be listed simply as ‘Version’.

  1. To configure your device’s wireless network setting, first make sure you are within range of the campus wireless network inside an OWU building. Then, from the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. Under “Choose a Network…”, tap BishopNet. Then type in your OWU username and password.
  4. Tap Join. A certificate screen will appear. Tap Trust or Accept. You should have a limited connection to BishopNet.
  5. Open Safari and go to http://wifi.owu.edu/ to finish your registration. You will be asked for your OWU username and password one more time. Make sure the first letter in your username is not capitalized. Once you complete and Submit this, you should be online with BishopNet in about 5 minutes.

Note: The latest Android and iOS updates are using randomly assigned MAC addresses for WiFi connections. On Android, it says, “Random MAC address” and, on iPhones, it says, “Private Address”. This will have to be disabled or turned OFF for it to fully connect to BishopNet.
