For your protection, the Telecommunications Department is able to detect and investigate fraudulent calls. If you are receiving obscene or harassing telephone calls, notify the Telecommunications Department (students, notify your RLC).
Section 2917.21 of the Penal Code of the State of Ohio makes it unlawful for any person to (1) fail to identify themselves to the recipient and make the telephone call with purpose to harass, abuse, or annoy any person, (2) describe, suggest, request, or propose any sexual activity, or (3) knowingly state to the recipient of the telephone call that he intends to cause damage to or destroy public or private property.
Violators of this law are guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree. If the offender has previously been convicted of a violation of this section, he is guilty of a felony of the fourth degree.
Telephone Instructions
Telephone Instructions for Students, Faculty and Administration, and Staff:
If you would like to forward your work extension to forward to your cell/home phone please follow these instructions:
-Lift handset or press SPEAKER button (if the number you want to forward isn’t the 1st button, open that line up by pressing it’s corresponding button).
-Dial #9 and the number you want to forward to.
* Example. If you want to forward to your home phone in Delaware, you would dial #9 9-740-555-1234.
* If you want to forward to a non-local number, you would dial #9 8-1-XXX-555-1234.
-Hang up
To Cancel Call forwarding:
-Lift handset or press SPEAKER (again, if your extension isn’t the first button, open that line)
-Dial ##9
-Hang up

Telephone Features
1. Press [Mic].
This will toggle the microphone on and off. When activated, the MIC LED will light red.
With call in progress:
1. Press the [Hold] key. Line key will flash green.
2. To retrieve, press the line key on which the call was being held. Call can be retrieved from any station with that line appearance.
*Call will ring back to phone if not retrieved.
With call in progress:
1. Press the [Hold] key TWICE. Line key will flash green.
2. To retrieve, press the line key on which the call was being held. Call can ONLY be retrieved from the station that placed the call on hold. Line will NOT blink on other phones on which the line appears.
*Call will ring back to phone if not retrieved.
With call in progress:
1. Press [Transfer] .
2. Dial the extension. To screen the call, wait for called party to answer.
3. Hang up to complete the transfer. To return to the original call, press the [Transfer] key again.
With first call established:
1. Press [Transfer].
2. Place the second call (internal or external).
3. When party answers, press [Conf] to connect all parties.
- Press [Speaker] or lift handset for dial tone.
- Press the FDA SOFT KEY, OR from a non-display phone, Dial #9.
- Enter the destination extension number. If forwarding to voice mail, enter #9 3976.
- Wait for “Set” confirmation tone, then hang up.

1. Press [Redial] and enter *. On display phones, this key will scroll through the last five numbers dialed. Each time this key is pressed, a new number will be displayed.
2. When desired number appears in the display, press * to dial.
With handset down:
1. Press [Feature].
2. Press the key you wish to program.
3. Enter the extension number or 9 + the telephone number that you wish to store.
4. Press [Feature] to lock in the programming.
Note: On display phones the MESSAGE key can also be programmed as a One Touch Speed Dial key, usually to Voice Mail, Extension 3976.
With handset down:
1. Press [Feature].
2. Press the key you wish to program.
3. Enter the extension number or 9 + the telephone number that you wish to store.
4. Press [Feature] to lock in the programming.

With call in progress:
1. Press Transfer and enter *6.
2. Hang up.
*If call is not retrieved within 2 minutes, the caller will ring back to the phone.

3. Dial Ext. Number the call was parked on.
4. You will be connected to the call.
