Connecting to the Campus Wireless Network
Once you've secured your computer against viruses and other malware, it's time to connect to BishopNet, the OWU campus-wide wireless network. You must follow configuration instructions based on your computer's operating system...
**If you are running Windows Vista or Windows XP Professional with SP3**
You may use the BishopNet automatic configuration utility:
* Here is the utility for students:
* Here is the utility for faculty and staff:
* If a balloon appears in the Windows system tray (at the bottom of the screen) saying “Click here to select a certificate or other credentials for connection to the network BishopNet,” click the balloon, and in the “Enter Credentials” box, type in your OWU username and password, leaving **Logon domain** blank. Then click **OK**.
If you are running any other operating system, or if the automatic configuration utility does not work, you must follow manual connection directions.
* **For Windows Vista click here.**
* **For Windows XP click here.**
* **For Macintosh OS X 10.5 (Leopard) click here.**
* **For Macintosh OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or 10.3 (Panther) click here.**
* **For iPhone 2.0 click here.**
Finally, finish your registration.
* If you are a student, surf over to http://wifi.owu.edu/ -- or, if you are a faculty or staff member, go to http://wifi2.owu.edu/ -- to finish your registration. You will be asked for your OWU username and password one more time. Once you complete and **Submit** this, you should be online with BishopNet.

**Tip for connecting an iPhone:**
If you're having problems getting to wifi.owu.edu or wifi2.owu.edu, try connecting while the iPhone has a phone signal as well as a BishopNet signal.

**Tip for connecting with Ubuntu:**
We've had initial reports that the default WIFI settings in Ubuntu 9.04 work well with BishopNet without having to do any customization. So try upgrading to 9.04 and resetting the wireless settings.
